The mission of the Mountain Learn & Play Preschool is to provide a safe, fun, and developmentally-appropriate learning environment that fosters growth and development through play-based activities that involve gross and fine motor skills, communication and language skills, cognitive and sensory skills, and social/emotional and peer interaction skills.
This Christian-based program looks at each child individually and meets that child where they are to help them develop the skills they need for continued education and successful environmental interaction. Remembering that children learn through play, MLP designs their curriculum in a way that not only is centered around play-based activities, but developmentally and age-appropriate learning opportunities that foster creativity, learning, and fun.
Our students are given opportunities for growth in areas involving music, languages (Spanish and American Sign Language/Signed English,) movement activities (gymnastics and tumbling,) and soon to come, art and fine arts activities. The children also grow in their faith with Bible stories and lessons that are intertwined within their curriculum.
A nutrition program that will meet the needs of the children through healthy food choices will be done in collaboration with area nutrition providers.
All of these things focus on the child as a whole as MLP takes a Gestalt approach to education, considering each child’s overall development and needs in order to grow successfully and happily.

“As a mom of four children, I have found that finding childcare has been the most difficult and stressful part of being a working mom. I have had multiple experiences of good and bad child-care situations that have negatively impacted my family, both emotionally and mentally. Having a place like MLE to send your child to, knowing their needs are being met, is priceless. MLE has offered a place where my child feels safe, secure, and loved. A place where they can not only learn educational standards but lessons about Jesus and loving one another as Christ loves us. A place where their physical needs and emotional needs are being met through social interactions with adults and peers. MLE has brought a sense of security and safety to my family during a very difficult time of trying to finding childcare. My child feels safe and secure which allows for him to be able to develop and grow appropriately. Giving families a place like MLE to send their children is critical to the continued development of our community and the development of our future… our kids.”
“Sending my son to MLE has provided a sense of relief to my husband and I. His prior daycare was unreliable, and as the year went on, our son began to ask not to go to school anymore. This was SO unlike him. Since starting at MLE, he’s happy to go to school, and my husband remarked that everyone (teachers and students) is happy at drop off! Removing this stressor from our life by providing a consistent source of childcare is one thing, but to provide happiness to my son is priceless!!! We are so thankful for the MLE and the positive effect it has had on the mental health of each member of our family.”
