Mountain Community Education
& Outreach
Mountain Community Education & Outreach is a program designed to bring education and informational opportunities, as well as support, to the community through monthly information sessions that will be free to the public as well as specific, targeted programs. Area experts will offer information that will help to support a variety of needs within the community.
From nutritional information for athletes to the mental health and wellness of children and their parents, various seminars will be provided to offer the community much needed support and information to help enhance and better their lives.
Such programs as Mountain Community Crossings, an adult special needs program, and GAP (Grandparents Again Parenting,) will be implemented to support those populations that may not be receiving services currently. An interactive children’s museum will provide area families with opportunities for educational, learning-based as well as historical and fun activities within Rabun County.
Information on where to seek community services as well as overall health and wellness information will be provided for anyone who needs it. Collaboration with area experts to provide an informational newsletter and regular newspaper article will be done to increase the reach of information to the community.
